Pic(k) of the week 4

I love charity shops – look at this little vintage beauty. How sweet is the hummingbird .  . and the text on the inside cracks me up. . . clearly from a time when advertising was simple! I’ve already loaded it with treasures, letters, cards and trinkets.

A Spot of Bother . . .

Please accept my apologies for this rubbish picture – I have yet to master the tripod and I haven’t got a camera remote. But the good thing is that you can see the sweetest little granny-esque dress I got from H&M.

The belt is vintage and the ribbed grey tights are super warm and from Topshop. I finished Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith yesterday – it was really engaging all the way through thanks to a great narrator, , , but the ending was a bit ‘meh’. That is my exceedingly literary analysis!

Dog Days Are Over. . .

I discovered an A W E S O M E  street style blog called Street Style Aesthetic and look who popped up . . . Florence from Florence and the Machine. She looks so cool. . . loving the pattern clashes , , , and I especially love her snakeskin bag. I have a similar one that I nicked from the Big V’s mum. I am wearing it to death lately.

Some of you may have noticed my newly acquired Facehunter book in the background. It’s lush. I must stop buying coffee table books until I actually have a coffee table of my own!

Bookish. . .

As promised – here are some pics of the books I bought in Hay on Wye – I love it when they have inscriptions from the previous owners on the inside covers. Lovely. I found some classics and I also stumbled across some of my childhood faves – Noddy and Mallory Towers.

waHay-on-Wye. . .

Here are a few pics from my jaunt to Wales. Hour upon blissful hour spent browsing second hand books. I found some gems (pics to follow soon) – – I’ll also post about some awesome bits I picked up at a Welsh car boot sale.

Outfit Post – kinda . . .

So – here are a few outfits – well sort of.

1. vest and skirt – H&M. Cuff – Urban Outfitters. Bag and necklace – vintage. Gladiator sandals – Topshop. Ring – Lola Rose

2. Bikini – Topshop. Hawaiian shirt stolen from the big V – River Island.

3. Dress – Topshop. Hat – Cyprus. Jellies – Office.

4. We went to St Gerasimos church in Kefalonia – i had to dress modestly from the basket provided outside – – – and i actually LOVED that shirt!

Too Cool for School . .

The colours, the muted gold touches (the woman is pulling off a glasses chain for goodness sake!), the pared down make up and the tousled topknot. E P I C.
